Research and development - organization and location

• This is primarily a location study, focussed on the research and development activities of business companies. Of central interest in the study is the interdependence between strategic orientation, structural setup and the physical location of the functions of the company concerned. On the basis of contemporay theories and an analysis of fifteen cases the author formulates a model for the relationships between company strategy, structure and the location of research and development.
