  • Collaborative Urban Transport Solution (CUTS) State of the Art report
  • 2011
  • Rapport (övrigt vetenskapligt/konstnärligt)abstract
    • Urban transport for people and goods is rapidly becoming one of the major challenges of political leaders at city, regional and even national levels. Decision and planning processes in cities are extremely complex. Technology and means for achieving the sustainability in urban transport are available. However, the problem is identified as lack of collaboration between different stakeholders in urban area as well as collaboration between transport for people and goods. The project “Collaborative Urban Transport Solution” attempts speed up the introduction of “collaborative urban transport solutions” for goods and people, considering urban form and all stakeholders, by defining common criteria and assessment methods as well as coordinating and supporting further deployment of existing demonstrations and pilots in cities. This report is presenting the results of the pre-study of the project and reviews some of the relevant references based on the three main fields: evaluating, impact assessment and transferability of sustainable transport solutions in urban areas. It also provides a guide for the relevant literature and projects which have been organized in the excel sheet.

  • Expression of the human ferritin light chain in a frataxin mutant yeast affects ageing and cell death
  • 2004
  • Ingår i: Experimental Gerontology. - : Elsevier BV. - 0531-5565. ; 39:5, s. 707-715
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Ferritin is one of the major eukaryotic proteins involved in regulating iron metabolism and maintaining iron homeostasis. However, Saccaromyces cerevisiae is an exception, possessing no ferritin and using other means to store excess iron. The only potential iron storage protein identified in yeast so far is the homologue of human frataxin (YFH1p). In this study, we found that dysfunction of yeast frataxin shortens mean lifespan by 49% compared to the WT control. Interestingly, the human ferritin L gene can, at least partially, complement the function of yeast frataxin, extending lifespan and protecting cells from death induced by oxidative stress or excess iron. Our findings indicate that ferritin L can perform functions in yeast that are similar to its functions in mammals, and suggest that common mechanisms may exist for preventing iron and oxidative damage in single- and multi-cellular eukaryotic organisms. Clearly, elucidation of the function of human ferritin in yeast would help in gaining a better understanding the molecular basis of iron storage diseases

  • Improved Epilayer Surface Morphology on 2 degrees off-cut 4H-SiC Substrates
  • 2014
  • Ingår i: SILICON CARBIDE AND RELATED MATERIALS 2013, PTS 1 AND 2. - : Trans Tech Publications. ; , s. 206-209
  • Konferensbidrag (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Homoepitaxial layers of 4H-SiC were grown with horizontal hot-wall CVD on 2 degrees off-cut substrates, with the purpose of improving the surface morphology of the epilayers and reducing the density of surface morphological defects. In-situ etching conditions in either pure hydrogen or in a mixture of silane and hydrogen prior to the growth were compared as well as C/Si ratios in the range 0.8 to 1.0 during growth. The smoothest epilayer surface, together with lowest defect density, was achieved with growth at a C/Si ratio of 0.9 after an in-situ etching in pure hydrogen atmosphere.
