  • Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) Phase 4 (2018) : Change management in allergic rhinitis and asthma multimorbidity using mobile technology
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. - : Elsevier. - 0091-6749 .- 1097-6825. ; 143:3, s. 864-879
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma (ARIA) has evolved from a guideline by using the best approach to integrated care pathways using mobile technology in patients with allergic rhinitis (AR) and asthma multimorbidity. The proposed next phase of ARIA is change management, with the aim of providing an active and healthy life to patients with rhinitis and to those with asthma multimorbidity across the lifecycle irrespective of their sex or socioeconomic status to reduce health and social inequities incurred by the disease. ARIA has followed the 8-step model of Kotter to assess and implement the effect of rhinitis on asthma multimorbidity and to propose multimorbid guidelines. A second change management strategy is proposed by ARIA Phase 4 to increase self-medication and shared decision making in rhinitis and asthma multimorbidity. An innovation of ARIA has been the development and validation of information technology evidence-based tools (Mobile Airways Sentinel Network [MASK]) that can inform patient decisions on the basis of a self-care plan proposed by the health care professional.

  • Collider phenomenology of new neutral scalars in a flavored multi-Higgs model
  • 2023
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D. - 2470-0010. ; 107:9
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this work, we propose and explore for the first time a new collider signature of heavy neutral scalars typically found in many distinct classes of multi-Higgs models. This signature, particularly relevant in the context of the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) measurements, is based on a topology with two charged leptons and four jets arising from first and second generation quarks. As an important benchmark scenario of the multi-Higgs models, we focus on a recently proposed Branco-Grimus-Lavoura (BGL) type model enhanced with an Abelian U(1) flavor symmetry and featuring an additional sector of right-handed neutrinos. We discuss how kinematics of the scalar fields in this model can be used to efficiently separate the signal from the dominant backgrounds and explore the discovery potential of the new heavy scalars in the forthcoming LHC runs. The proposed method can be applied for analysis of the statistical significance of heavy scalars' production at the LHC and future colliders in any multi-Higgs model.

  • ARIA digital anamorphosis : Digital transformation of health and care in airway diseases from research to practice
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Allergy. European Journal of Allergy and Clinical Immunology. - : John Wiley & Sons. - 0105-4538 .- 1398-9995. ; 76:1, s. 168-190
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Digital anamorphosis is used to define a distorted image of health and care that may be viewed correctly using digital tools and strategies. MASK digital anamorphosis represents the process used by MASK to develop the digital transformation of health and care in rhinitis. It strengthens the ARIA change management strategy in the prevention and management of airway disease. The MASK strategy is based on validated digital tools. Using the MASK digital tool and the CARAT online enhanced clinical framework, solutions for practical steps of digital enhancement of care are proposed.

  • Next-generation ARIA care pathways for rhinitis and asthma : a model for multimorbid chronic diseases
  • 2019
  • Ingår i: Clinical and Translational Allergy. - : BMC. - 2045-7022. ; 9
  • Forskningsöversikt (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Background: In all societies, the burden and cost of allergic and chronic respiratory diseases are increasing rapidly. Most economies are struggling to deliver modern health care effectively. There is a need to support the transformation of the health care system into integrated care with organizational health literacy.Main body: As an example for chronic disease care, MASK (Mobile Airways Sentinel NetworK), a new project of the ARIA (Allergic Rhinitis and its Impact on Asthma) initiative, and POLLAR (Impact of Air POLLution on Asthma and Rhinitis, EIT Health), in collaboration with professional and patient organizations in the field of allergy and airway diseases, are proposing real-life ICPs centred around the patient with rhinitis, and using mHealth to monitor environmental exposure. Three aspects of care pathways are being developed: (i) Patient participation, health literacy and self-care through technology-assisted "patient activation", (ii) Implementation of care pathways by pharmacists and (iii) Next-generation guidelines assessing the recommendations of GRADE guidelines in rhinitis and asthma using real-world evidence (RWE) obtained through mobile technology. The EU and global political agendas are of great importance in supporting the digital transformation of health and care, and MASK has been recognized by DG Sante as a Good Practice in the field of digitally-enabled, integrated, person-centred care. Conclusion: In 20 years, ARIA has considerably evolved from the first multimorbidity guideline in respiratory diseases to the digital transformation of health and care with a strong political involvement.

  • All one-loop scalar vertices in the effective potential approach
  • 2016
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; 2016:8
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • Using the one-loop Coleman-Weinberg effective potential, we derive a general analytic expression for all the derivatives of the effective potential with respect to any number of classical scalar fields. The result is valid for a renormalisable theory in four dimensions with any number of scalars, fermions or gauge bosons. This result corresponds to the zero-external momentum contribution to a general one-loop diagram with N scalar external legs. We illustrate the use of the general result in two simple scalar singlet extensions of the Standard Model, to obtain the dominant contributions to the triple couplings of light scalar particles under the zero external momentum approximation.

  • Reviving trinification models through an E6 -extended supersymmetric GUT
  • 2017
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D - Particles, Fields, Gravitation and Cosmology. - 2470-0010. ; 95:7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We present a supersymmetric (SUSY) model based on trinification [SU(3)]3 and family SU(3)F symmetries embedded into a maximal subgroup of E8, where the sectors of light Higgs bosons and leptons are unified into a single chiral supermultiplet. The common origin of gauge trinification and of the family symmetry from E8 separates the model from other trinification-based GUTs, as it protects, in particular, the Standard Model fermions from gaining mass until the electroweak symmetry is broken. Furthermore, it allows us to break the trinification symmetry via vacuum expectation values in SU(3)-adjoint scalars down to a left-right symmetric theory. Simultaneously, it ensures the unification of the gauge and Yukawa couplings as well as proton stability. Although the low-energy regime (e.g., mass hierarchies in the scalar sector determined by a soft SUSY-breaking mechanism) is yet to be established, these features are one key to revive the once very popular trinification-based GUTs.

  • A three Higgs doublet model with symmetry-suppressed flavour changing neutral currents
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of High Energy Physics. - 1029-8479. ; 2021:11
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We construct a three-Higgs doublet model with a flavour non-universal U(1) × ℤ2 symmetry. That symmetry induces suppressed flavour-changing interactions mediated by neutral scalars. New scalars with masses below the TeV scale can still successfully negotiate the constraints arising from flavour data. Such a model can thus encourage direct searches for extra Higgs bosons in the future collider experiments, and includes a non-trivial flavour structure.

  • Phenomenology of a flavored multiscalar Branco-Grimus-Lavoura-like model with three generations of massive neutrinos
  • 2022
  • Ingår i: Physical Review D. - 2470-0010. ; 106:7
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • In this paper, we present several possible anomaly free implementations of the Branco-Grimus-Lavoura (BGL) model with two Higgs doublets and one singlet scalar. The model also includes three generations of massive neutrinos that get their mass via a type-I seesaw mechanism. A particular anomaly free realization, which we dub νBGL-1 scenario, is subjected to an extensive phenomenological analysis, from the perspective of flavor physics and collider phenomenology.

  • Ultralight bosons for strong gravity applications from simple Standard Model extensions
  • 2021
  • Ingår i: Journal of Cosmology and Astroparticle Physics. - : IOP Publishing. - 1475-7516. ; 2021:12
  • Tidskriftsartikel (refereegranskat)abstract
    • We construct families, and concrete examples, of simple extensions of the Standard Model that can yield ultralight real or complex vectors or scalars with potential astrophysical relevance. Specifically, the mass range for these putative fundamental bosons (∼ 10-10-10-20 eV) would lead dynamically to both new non-black hole compact objects (bosonic stars) and new non-Kerr black holes, with masses of ∼ Mo˙ to ∼ 1010 Mo˙, corresponding to the mass range of astrophysical black hole candidates (from stellar mass to supermassive). For each model, we study the properties of the mass spectrum and interactions after spontaneous symmetry breaking, discuss its theoretical viability and caveats, as well as some of its potential and most relevant phenomenological implications linking them to the physics of compact objects.
