- We report here the draft de novo genome assembly, transcriptome assembly, and annotation of the lichen-forming fungus Arthonia radiata (Pers.) Ach., the type species for Arthoniomycetes, a class of lichen-forming, lichenicolous, and saprobic Ascomycota. The genome was assembled using overlapping paired-end and mate pair libraries and sequenced on an Illumina HiSeq 2500 instrument.

- Avian coronavirus, the causative agent of avian infectious bronchitis, occurs as multiple genotypes and lineages, and full genomes are not available for the majority of them. This paper reports the (previously unknown) complete genome sequence of strain D274 of this virus (27,599 nucleotides), isolated from chickens in The Netherlands in 1979.

- Achromobacter sp. strain B7 (= CCUG 72081) was isolated from a diesel-polluted soil from the Valparaiso Region, Chile, subjected to bioremediation with a hydrocarbon-degrading enrichment. The complete genome sequence of Achromobacter sp. B7 has been determined to have a size of 6.24 Mb, 5,578 coding sequences, 57 tRNAs, and a G+C content of 64.8%. © 2018 Méndez et al.

- The Tara Oceans Consortium has published various metagenomes of marine environmental samples. Here, we report a contig of 2.6 Mbp from the assembly of a sample collected near the Marquesas Islands in the Pacific Ocean, covering a nearly complete novel verrucomicrobial genome. We propose the name "Candidates Moanabacter tarae" for the corresponding bacterium.
