- 1929 bildades Göteborgs första Högre allmänna läroverk för Flickor – Flickläroverket som fick en byggnad 1935 i det kulturella centrumet, Götaplatsen. Efter några år som Kjellbergska gymnasiet, sedan Komvux, blev byggnaden del av Artisten, Högskolan för scen och musik, HSM 1992. Byggnaden har burit kvinnors utbildning, konst och kultur över många generationer, en minneskedja som nu är bruten. Boken - En båge genom tiden – ritualer kring en göteborgshistoria – en konst- och forskningsantologi – är resultatet av de offentliga minnesdagar där de deltagande drygt 200 kvinnorna (70– 97 år) som varit elever på Flickläroverket, studenter vid Artisten, konstnärer och forskare – bidrog till och deltog i gestaltande ritualer, minnesrum, dans, utställningar och samtal som gav liv åt en utbildningskultur och konst som berört samhället i generationer. I boken bidrar ett 20-tal Göteborgsbaserade konstnärer och forskare med olika perspektiv på byggnadens poetiska, sociala och konstnärliga dimensioner. Bland annat beskrivs återskapandet av Bågdansen, som dansades varje år vid Lucia mellan 1934-1972. Här beskrivs även den medie-debatt som ledde till räddningen av målningen Dansen av Nils Nilsson från 1935 och hur nedtagningen gick till. Tillsammans med ett rikt foto- och bildmaterial, filmdokumentationer och ett ljudarkiv utgör boken ett tidsdokument där konst fungerar som minnesbärare över tid och rum.

- Background: The purpose of this study was to evaluate the impact of using different country-specific value sets in EQ-5D-5L based outcome analyses. Methods: We obtained data on patients surgically treated with total hip arthroplasty (THA) between 2017 and 2019 from the national Swedish Hip Arthroplasty Register. Preoperative and one-year postoperative data on a total of 28,902 procedures were available for analysis. The EQ-5D-5L health states were coded to the EQ-5D-5L preference indices using 13 European value sets. The EQ-5D-5L index distributions were then estimated with kernel density estimation. The change in EQ-5D-5L index before and one year after treatment was evaluated with the standardized response mean (SRM). The lifetime gain in quality-adjusted life years (QALYs) was estimated with a 3.5% annual QALY discount rate. Findings: There was a marked variability in means and shapes of the resulting EQ-5D-5L index distributions. There were also considerable differences in the EQ-5D-5L index distribution shape before and after the treat-ment using the same value set. The effect sizes of one-year change (SRM) were similar for all value sets. How-ever, the differences in estimated QALY gains were substantial. Interpretation: The EQ-5D-5L index distributions varied considerably when a single large data set was applied to different European EQ-5D-5L value sets. The most pronounced differences were between the value sets based on experience-based valuation and the value sets based on hypothetical valuation. This illustrates that experience-based and hypothetical value sets are inherently different and also that QALY gains derived with different value sets are not comparable. - Metal powder bed additive manufacturing technologies, such as the Electron Beam Melting process, facilitate a high degree of geometric flexibility and have been demonstrated as useful production techniques for metallic parts. However, the EBM process is typically associated with lower resolutions and higher surface roughness compared to similar laser-based powder bed metal processes. In part, this difference is related to the larger powder size distribution and thicker layers normally use As part of an effort to improve the resolution and surface roughness of EBM fabricated components, this study investigates the feasibility of fabricating components with a smaller powder size fraction and layer thickness (similar to laser based processes). The surface morphology, microstructure and tensile properties of the produced samples were evaluated. The findings indicate that microstructure is dependent on wall-thickness and that, for thin walled structures, tensile properties can become dominated by variations in surface roughness.

- Suboptimal immunity to SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination has frequently been observed in individuals with various immunodeficiencies. Given the increased antibody evasion properties of emerging SARS-CoV-2 subvariants, it is necessary to assess whether other components of adaptive immunity generate resilient and protective responses against infection. We assessed T cell responses in 279 individuals, covering five different immunodeficiencies and healthy controls, before and after booster mRNA vaccination, as well as after Omicron infection in a subset of patients. We observed robust and persistent Omicron-reactive T cell responses that increased markedly upon booster vaccination and correlated directly with antibody titers across all patient groups. Poor vaccination responsiveness in immunocompromised or elderly individuals was effectively counteracted by the administration of additional vaccine doses. Functionally, Omicron-reactive T cell responses exhibited a pronounced cytotoxic profile and signs of longevity, characterized by CD45RA+ effector memory subpopulations with stem cell-like properties and increased proliferative capacity. Regardless of underlying immunodeficiency, booster-vaccinated and Omicron-infected individuals appeared protected against severe disease and exhibited enhanced and diversified T cell responses against conserved and Omicron-specific epitopes. Our findings indicate that T cells retain the ability to generate highly functional responses against newly emerging variants, even after repeated antigen exposure and a robust immunological imprint from ancestral SARS-CoV-2 mRNA vaccination.

- Background: Optimal oxygen targets in patients resuscitated after cardiac arrest are uncertain. The primary aim of this study was to describe the values of partial pressure of oxygen values (PaO2) and the episodes of hypoxemia and hyperoxemia occurring within the first 72 h of mechanical ventilation in out of hospital cardiac arrest (OHCA) patients. The secondary aim was to evaluate the association of PaO2 with patients’ outcome. Methods: Preplanned secondary analysis of the targeted hypothermia versus targeted normothermia after OHCA (TTM2) trial. Arterial blood gases values were collected from randomization every 4 h for the first 32 h, and then, every 8 h until day 3. Hypoxemia was defined as PaO2 < 60 mmHg and severe hyperoxemia as PaO2 > 300 mmHg. Mortality and poor neurological outcome (defined according to modified Rankin scale) were collected at 6 months. Results: 1418 patients were included in the analysis. The mean age was 64 ± 14 years, and 292 patients (20.6%) were female. 24.9% of patients had at least one episode of hypoxemia, and 7.6% of patients had at least one episode of severe hyperoxemia. Both hypoxemia and hyperoxemia were independently associated with 6-month mortality, but not with poor neurological outcome. The best cutoff point associated with 6-month mortality for hypoxemia was 69 mmHg (Risk Ratio, RR = 1.009, 95% CI 0.93–1.09), and for hyperoxemia was 195 mmHg (RR = 1.006, 95% CI 0.95–1.06). The time exposure, i.e., the area under the curve (PaO2-AUC), for hyperoxemia was significantly associated with mortality (p = 0.003). Conclusions: In OHCA patients, both hypoxemia and hyperoxemia are associated with 6-months mortality, with an effect mediated by the timing exposure to high values of oxygen. Precise titration of oxygen levels should be considered in this group of patients. Trial registration: clinicaltrials.gov NCT02908308, Registered September 20, 2016.
