- Parametric down-conversion and amplication schemes are oen utilized to obtain high-energy, nanosecond pulses deep within the mid-infrared. We present a high-energy, 2 μm master oscillator power amplier (MOPA) based on large-aperture periodically poled Rb:KTP. A maximum output energy of 52 mJ was obtained with a conversion eciency of 40 %.
