Education in the context of religious pluralism and human rights – an introduction

• The chapter introduces a collection of articles. In this volume, scholars study the interconnectedness between religion, education and human rights from an international perspective using an interdisciplinary approach. Some of the chapters in the volume present case studies of how confessional or non-confessional Religious Education (RE) at schools in different societal contexts relate to the concept of universal human rights. The introduction argues for the need for interdisciplinary approaches to the field, drawing on law, education. as well as social scientific and religious studies.
