• We were pleased and encouraged by the congratulations expressed in the first paragraph of our friend McClung et al.’s (2009) comment. However, as we read further, we found that not all was rosy. We were dismayed to discover that we had made a lot of mistakes and in the end, all we had achieved was to add to the confusion about the origin of the Bushmanland ore district!
