Woman-centred care

• In this chapter, we will present and discuss the concept of woman-centred care. This concept is used in different aspects of midwifery such as guidelines, professional recommendations, practice, education, research and midwifery philosophy. Informed choice and women’s rights and involvement are linked to woman-centred care. In this chapter, both an international and Nordic understanding and practical examples of woman-centred care will be presented and discussed.
