- Knowledge of thermal properties at high pressure is quite recent and was made available by the use of transient techniques of measurement. Thermal conductivity generally increases with increasing pressure, but several exceptions are now known. A survey of the density dependence of conductivity is given for a wide range of materials, and the effects of disorder are discussed. Some projections are made for future work.
