- The results of the development of an embedded system for methane monitoring are presented The embedded system presents an autonomous wireless sensor node with a radio module to control executive devices, in particular, shut-off valves. To provide the energy efficiency, the wireless sensor node operates in dynamic mode with a pulsed heating mode. Industrial catalytic sensor is used as a sensitive element To prevent the burnout of the catalytic sensor microheater, which often occurs during pulsed heating, a two-stage heating pulse with a gradual increase in voltage was developed Also, an algorithm is developed and implemented on the microcontroller to control the wireless sensor node The wireless sensor node was tested with methane at concentrations of 0.25, 0.5, 1, and 2.5 vol %. The battery lifetime of the wireless sensor node is approximately 540 days with one measurement per 30 s.
