- The article discusses how the first two novels by Argentine writer César Duayen (pseudonym for Emma de la Barra), at the very beginning of the twentieth century, ambivalently combine decolonising gestures and a return to the cool imaginary of the Nordic countries that circulated in the period, in order to put forward ideals of knowledge, gender equality and whiteness, understood as a corporeal, as well as an intellectual category.
