- To correlate changes in whole body resting energy expenditure and protein breakdown with the production of stress hormones, excretion of polyamines, and circulating concentrations of interleukin-1 (IL-1), interleukin-6 (IL-6), and tumour necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-alpha), in patients undergoing treatment with high doses of interleukin-2 (IL-2) and interferon-alpha (IFN-alpha).
