Motivated reasoning in the face of clear evidence

• Abstract for the symposium "Psychological drivers of misinformation and misperception"We have increasingly sophisticated ways of acquiring and communicating knowledge, but at the same time, efforts to communicate this knowledge often encounter resistance. The aim of the symposium is to understand and characterize the role of drivers such as trust, conformity, ideology and information complexity in motivated reasoning and knowledge resistance.
